Running Made Easy
"My Running Bible!" Running Made Easy by Susie Whalley and Lisa Jackson is a fabulous book about running. I was surfing the web, looking for running inspiration, when I came across reviews of the book. They were all five star acclamations, and, having bought and read the book myself, it's easy to understand why. First of all, the two authors' love and enthusiasm for running shine through all the way and smitten you. There's lots of humor which actually makes you hum and even laugh out loud as you read it. Second, they really know what they write about, and third, they have gathered a wonderful collection of inspirational stories about other real people, people like you and me (and some truly exceptional persons, too), who run. They make you believe that anyone can run - even I! Book review continues below...

Book review continues: The great thing about the book is that it makes you want to jump the off the sofa right here, right now and spurt down the road. That's why I call it my running bible - I open the book, on any page, when I need a bit of extra motivation to go for a run. The book is also packed with great tip and advice. Running Made Easy contains running programs for beginners, for 10 kilometers, half-marathon and marathon. I had already followed and dropped out of another program, following my own rhythm. Now I jumped in at week 6 at the beginner's program and it absolutely helped me progress. The program was easy to follow, but still made me push myself, and I have truly enjoyed it. Next up is the 10K. What I especially like about the book was that it stresses that it's OK to walk! Not only that, you're advised to take a 60second walking break from time to time. I used to feel I wasn't a real runner since I need to walk in between. But now I know I am!
