How I Make Money With My Website
...and how you can do it, too!

I have already told my story and why I made this website - I wanted to create a job for myself that is fun, interesting and gives me an income.

And so can you! You can make a website about anything you're interested in, passionate about or have a knowledge about - whether it's growing fruit trees, breastfeeding, Siamese cats, Chinese porcelain, sailing in Greece, traveling by train - you name it!

The first thing everyone is asking me is how you can make money so I'll take that first:

You can use Adsense. See the Google ads this site? Every time a visitor find something interesting in an ad and click on it, I get money.

You can write reviews of books, CD's and DVDs, relevant to the content of your website, and show visitors where they can buy any of this - and you'll receive a percentage of the sale. I send the visitors to the fabulous shop, which is actually an amazon shop, but on my site (please don't ask me the technical details on how to do this - I just clicked where it said click and then like magic I had a shop on Your Fabulous Life.) There are also plenty of self-published authors out there that will give you a nice percentage of the sale coming through your site. You don't sell - you simply show your visitors where to buy.

You can write a book or a guide that visitors can pay to download from your site.

You can create a home study course that visitors can buy from your site.

You can create a website where visitors can buy your homemade craft or art. Or, like I do, sell the work of an artist on my site.

You can sell your services - visitors will pay to get your advice on something you know a lot about. My friend at Moonslipper has a great site about ghosts and anything paranormal. She is being paid for her expertise, which is ghostbusting and getting rid of negative energies (and yes, it works). How cool is that!

You can sell hard goods.

You can have companies paying for being a part of your site. I have another site, too, about my bed and breakfast and the place I live in Greece. Here the local real estate agent pays to have a page on my site. And why would she do that, instead of getting her own site? Because I have built a website that has much more visitors than she can ever dream of! Besides, it's cheaper than having someone else making her a site.

You can get a commission of tickets sales, car rentals, tour bookings etc. generated from your site. Again - like I do on my Greece site. When any of my guests rent a sailboat or hire a mountain guide I get a commission.

Don't rush out and make a site, just because you've got some ideas on how to make money on it!

That was exactly the mistake I did!

I had a great website. I struggled hard to make it myself, but at least I didn't pay anyone else $$$$ to do it for me. But I made zero money on it. Why? Because I had no visitors!

Just being on the net with a website, no matter how great it is, doesn't make you any money...I learned that the hard way.

In a way it's just like having a shop - if no one comes into your shop you won't make any sales! And if someone who's looking for stockings come into your car parts shop you're unlikely to make any sales, either.

I wouldn't have been writing this if I wasn't extremely pleased with the way things are going!:)
