Your Fabulous Guide to Gratitude and Thank You Notes for Kids
By Christy Murphy Teaching your children the lesson of gratitude is a one they will thank you for when they are older. But, your family, friends and relatives will be very grateful now. Here are a few projects, grouped by age, to make it easy and fun for children to share their gratitude with friends and family. A Few Thank You Projects for Kids Under 5 If your child can trace or hold a crayon, fold a sheet of construction paper in half. On the cover, using dotted or light pencil strokes outline the word THANK YOU for your child to trace. Inside have your child draw a picture of them enjoying the present or a picture of their favorite part of the trip or any picture. If your child cannot trace yet, simply have them draw a picture of the gift. If your child drawing skills are not well defined here's another cute idea. Using magnetic letters or an etch-a-sketch, fashion the letters to make a sign that says thank you. Then take a cute photo of your kid, holding up the sign. Send it inside a thank you card you write. If you are ambitions and you have a child that LOVES to have his or her photo taken, have your kid posing in a shape of the letters "T" (with hands outstretched from the shoulders) and "Y" (like in YMCA dance) and cut them out (or use your computer) to insert the other letters to form thank you for your own homemade card. You could feasibly have your child do all the letters, but that may be a lot of work. For Children (Recommended ages 5-7) Many times kids do not know what to write in a thank you note. They know what they are thankful for, but they are worried they will note "get it right." Solve your child's writer's block by using one of these, easy-to-follow, fill-in-the blank, thank you templates.
