Rumour has it that Jean-Paul Gaultier passed by my restaurant one night..
Welcome to the blog of my fabulous life. Glamour and glitz? Champagne and caviar? Cocaine and Gabbana? Eeeh..not exactly... though rumour has it that Jean-Paul Gaultier passed by my restaurant one night it was full last spring...You see, I live in this tiny Greek village in Greek Macedonia, far away from civilization. Except from Gaultier's probable visit, the news that rock our world are more likely to be something like my neigbours pigs escaping from their shed or someone falling down from the tree when picking olives. And even those events are far between. But you don't need all that glitz and glam to live a fabulous life! Only some gorgeous handbags, of course!

As some of you know, I run a small hotel in a village in Greece. From we started last summer, I’ve been very conscious on attracting the right kind of guests. My nightmare would be guests who stay here because they can’t find anything else, who’d rather be somewhere else and who don’t like our style or our efforts to create a special place!
So far this summer Universe has brought me – among many wonderful people – a very musical couple who taught me to be aware of sounds - like the different songs from the different birds. Now they sing – now they don’t! What are they telling?
A very creative 13 year old girl who carried bottles of sand and shells home with her – to make small display boxes with Greek sand and shells as gifts for her friends – so much more personal and special than any shop-bought souvenir!
A very much in love couple from Athens – seeing people so much in love always makes me happy. They also reminded us every day of their stay that we live in a paradise…
And many other lovely men and women, who over a glass of wine in our restaurant at night, has given me great ideas and inputs for making my place better and take it even closer to my dreams.
And still summer isn’t over…:))

I had a mail from a friend who's going on holidays and has to get up at two in the morning to catch her plane. She wrote: My son thinks it's incredibly cool that we're getting up in the middle of the night to fly. I think I have to see it through a five year olds eyes.
I think so, too! Suddenly it seems like an adventure and not a drag!
It's been incredibly hot here for the past week, but it wasn't until a friend in Ireland told me that there it had been raining for the past two weeks, that it struck me how often we complain about something other people envy! So I decided to go from complaining to enjoying - after all, as I've stated before I hate complaining and you can read why here. I've moved the spare bed out in the back yard and now sleep under the stars. Now that's a fabulous luxury!
What about you? What can you do to turn something you complain about into something great?
